How to pull through DOUBT…
Regardless of how discipline we are, how motivated we are, doubt is part of our innate thought processes, especially when we are on a relatively new path. The seed of doubt comes in form of thought patterns that are not in harmony with the goals we set out to achieve.
Common examples of doubtful dialogue could be:
“I’m not worthy.”
“I don’t know if I can do this.”
“This is out of my comfort zone.” (This is a COMMON one).
“It’s too difficult.”
“I’m not ready.” (If this is you, we need to WORK together).
Although these dialogues are not valid – our minds hold on to them as truths preventing us from moving forward on our journey.
PULLING THROUGH DOUBTFUL THOUGHTS: Doubtful thoughts are present in all human beings. From successful high achievers to the regular Jane/Joe (sorry if you end up reading this … and your name happens to be Jane/Joe) that have dreams and goals but their doubtful dialogue stopped them on their path towards achieving success – in whatever capacity.
The difference between these sets of individuals is that successful high achievers are able to see doubtful thoughts for what they are by not attaching stories to and building their lives around those thoughts. They have the discipline to stay consistent in taking steps that led them to creating the lives they have in spite of doubts they had on their way to creating the lives they desired.
While regular Jane/Joe see these thoughts for what they are, embodies these doubtful thought patterns, breaths them, preaches them, and subconsciously abides by them. These are individuals who, although, they are not satisfied with where they are on their journey, they bury their dreams and desires with doubt.
RELEASING DOUBT: As I’ve mentioned earlier, doubtful thoughts are thoughts that are present in our experiences, research shows that one way to rid ourselves of doubtful thoughts is to observe and release them as they come up in our experiences. Simply said, do not give these thoughts air-time in your experience.
Another way to deal with doubtful thoughts is to observe them, use them to propel you forward on your journey.
The ability to do this takes staying consistent with taking inspired actions towards your goals, keeping yourself accountable if you don’t follow through on your actions, and being your own biggest cheerleader on that journey. For majority of individuals, the ability to keep themselves motivated is the main reason they are unable to move forward from where they are.
